Dr Wangia is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Economics.  She has a PhD in Agricultural Economics from University of Missouri, Columbia, USA and a MSc in Rural Economics from University of Alberta, Canada.  She acquired her BSc in Agriculture from Nairobi University in 1983 and Diploma in Agriculture and Home Economics from Egerton College, Kenya in 1972.  Before joining the University of Nairobi, Dr Wangia was a Lecturer at Egerton University.  Prior to that she was a Senior Research Officer at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) where she was coordinating socio-economic research on crops and livestock. Dr Wangia has over 10 years experience in agricultural research, extension and 8 years teaching at the university level.  Currently, Dr Wangia teaches Marketing and Agricultural Extension.  She has supervised several PhD and MSc students in and out of the University of Nairobi.  She also is a collaborator with CGIAR Centers, IDRC, Embassies, UNEP and KARI.
