Timothy Mwololo Waema is a Professor of Information Systems in the School of Computing and Informatics in the University of Nairobi. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Strategic Management of Information Systems from the University of Cambridge (UK) and a Bachelors Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Bath (UK).
Prof. Waema has extensive ICT for development (ICT4D) research experience in different sectors, including government, education, financial services, agriculture, and small and medium enterprises. He has carried out extensive consultancy in many aspects of ICTs and development, including policy and strategy development, software development, procurement, project management, and network infrastructure design and development in both public and private sectors. He has consulted for numerous ministries and state agencies in Kenya and other African countries on ICT and related issues. He has published widely in journals, conference proceedings and in books and sits on editorial boards of several peer reviewed journals. Prof. Waema has broad corporate experience and is a Professional Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the largest association of computing professionals globally. He also sits in boards of several public and private sector organizations.
