I am a qualified Public Health, Epidemiologist and
HIV Clinical Trials specialist with key
competencies in operational research, documentation
, Monitoring and Evaluation. As the E-
learning Program Coordinator, I take charge of the
smooth running the Upgrading programme
for Nurse Practitioners through the E-learning plat
form. With twelve years in Maternal and
HIV/AIDS work, I have excellent program management
skills including Policy development,
Protocol development, Community mobilization, Data
collection, Data management processes
and Report writing. In addition, am a Trainer and C
ommunity Advisor in Maternal Health and
HIV/AIDS programmes. As early as 1995, I was instru
mental in the development,
Implementation and Monitoring of STI curriculum for
Health Care Providers in Kenya.
One of my roles as an international health consulta
nt is evidenced in the manner and turn round
time in which I developed the HIV policy for water
utilities in three countries namely; Kenya,
Malawi and Zambia. I hold authorship in various pee
r reviewed local and international journals
including the HIV Vaccine Hand book. As an editor
for the African Journal of Midwifery, I
have mentored many young practitioners who are acti
vely contributing to this great publication.
In 2013, my publication titled ‘Contraceptive pract
ices among Fistula patients in Kenya” was
voted the best for low and middle income countries.
As Head of Research Unit, I oversee
development and implementation of key research proj
ects within the School. This is in addition
to my primary responsibility as lecturer responsibl
e for teaching, mentorship and examination for
both basic and post basic students.
