Prof.Rose Nyikal is a Senior Lecturer and coordinator of the Collaborative Masters program in Agricultural and Applied Economics (CMAAE), in the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Nairobi.  Rose was also the Department chairman from February 2004 to February 2010. She earned her PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nairobi, with specialization in Production Economics and Rural Finance. Her current research activities are on Drivers of Livelihoods for Kenya’s export horticulture farmers, focusing on the role of various funding strategies, and on Innovation systems and livelihoods in Kenya. Prior to doing postgraduate work and joining the University of Nairobi, Rose served Kenya’s Ministry of Agriculture in various capacities, broadly covering smallholder production support.  Rose is the current Secretary-Treasurer of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE), and a member of the Kenya Professional Association of Women in Agriculture and Environment, the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE), and the African Farm Management Association.
