I am currently serving in the Department as a Senior Lecturer and a Specialist Obstetrician Gynecologist, Kenyatta National Hospital Nairobi, Kenya. I am a registered medical practitioner with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board and also with Specialist recognition as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist.
I hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Degree, Masters in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (M.med) of the University of Nairobi, 2011. In addition, I am a holder of a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Clinical Trials of the London School, Fellowship in Operations Research, and Fellowship in HIV/AIDS in women, Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Trials, Postgraduate Diploma in Biomedical Research Methodology and. I am currently a final year PhD student in the University Ghent, Belgium pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Medical Sciences (Research Topic: Tuberculosis and women). I am perusing a Fellowship, in Gynaecologic Oncology, University of Nairobi.
I have supervised 20 postgraduate student dissertations to completion and currently, 12 students are under my supervision. I have published 75 papers in peer reviewed journals. I have attended many National and International conferences and short term trainings.
I am involved in teaching and examination of both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in the Department. Other responsibilities in the Department include: Post Graduate final year coordinator, member curriculum committee in the School of Medicine, Member Department examination committee, and member Gender Based Violence committee in Kenyatta National Hospital. Internationally, I am an Executive Board Member in the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) representing Africa and East Mediterranean.
