Muthomi Munyua is a practising civil engineer in Kenya. Muthomi holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering) from the University of Nairobi. Muthomi also holds a Diploma in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University.

Muthomi represents the University of Nairobi in the ad-hoc committee to the National Implementation Committee on the Eurocodes (NICE). In addition to that, Muthomi is a member of Technical Committee 80 of the Kenya Bureau of Standards. Muthomi is a member of the finalisation committee of the National Building Code (2020) where he serves as one of the experts on the development of the Kenya Wind Map for the National Annex to KS EN 1991-1-4: General Actions. Muthomi lectures at the Department of Civil & Construction Engineering, Department of Architecture & Building Sciences, Department of Real Estate & Construction Management and the Department of Interior Design of the University of Nairobi.

Muthomi research interests are on the Eurocodes, structural dynamics, bridges and materials.
