PROF. MBATIA OLIVER OLE

Professor Mbatia has a PhD in Agricutural Economics and Economics from Oregon State University Corvallis, USA, and a Minor in Political Science and College and University Teaching.  He obtained his MSc in Agricultural Economics and Economics from the same university in 1966 and a BSc in Agricultural Technology and Mathematics from Wisconsin State University, USA.  He specialized in Economic Theory, International Trade/Development Economics and Marketing.

 Prof Mbatia started teaching at the Department of Agricultural Economics in 1978.  He has been teaching Economics Theory, Marketing, Production Economics, Food Economics, and Food Economics and Food Policy to post-graduate students and Macroeconomics, and Economics and Management of Food Industry Marketing to undergraduate students. Prof Mbatia has supervised both PhD and MSc students in and out of the University of Nairobi.

 Before joining the University of Nairobi, Prof Mbatia was a Lecturer in Public Administration at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles; an Associate Professor in Business Administration at the School of Management, California, and an Associate Professor of Economics at the San Diego State University, San Diego, California.  He has published widely in reputable journals.
