I am a registered consulting engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a fellow member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK). I am an approved person in various categories by the directorate of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSHS), Ministry of Labour and social protection, under the OSHA 2007 Act. I am also a licensed lead expert by the National Environment and Management Authority (NEMA). I have over 20 years of experience in the field of Agricultural Engineering, covering varied areas such as project planning and identification, irrigation master plan preparation, feasibility studies and detailed designs, preparation of tender documents, supervision of construction works and planning for operation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure. Undertaken technical designs for various gravity and pump-fed irrigation systems – surface, sprinkler/centre pivot and drip covering intake works (weirs and intakes), conveyance and distribution systems (piped and canal) and related structures, and in-field irrigation systems. Experienced in and conversant with farmers’ involvement and participation in planning, design, implementation and operation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage schemes. Experienced in coordination of multi-disciplinary teams in irrigation and drainage projects either as Team Leader and / or Project Manager including experts in various field of engineering, agriculture, sociology, economics, water resources, geology and geotechnical engineering, environment and surveying, among others. Undertaken both government and donor funded projects as well as privately and NGO financed projects. Qualified in a wide range of computer applications in irrigation systems design such as MIDAS and AUTOCAD software. Over 15 years’ experience as a consultant in the area of Environment and Occupational safety and health, including environmental impact assessments studies (EIAs), environmental audits, occupational safety and health audits, fire safety audits, air quality monitoring and plant examination. Undertaken both government and donor funded projects as well as privately and NGO financed projects;
