Dr. Migosi is currently Lecturer in the Department of Educational and Distance Studies, Faculty of Education, University of Nairobi. Previously, served as ag. Dean school of Education, the founding chairman, Department of Educational Administration and Planning for three years. He holds a PhD in Education from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, both Masters in Education and Bachelors in Education from Moi University. He has served as a teacher rising through the ranks to become a high School Principal in a large Provincial Secondary school within Eldoret municipality. Later on he was promoted to the position of an Assistant Director of Research in the Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology, Headquarters. In the Ministry he was in charge of social sciences desk that was responsible for Science Parks, Intellectual Property Rights and Scientific Awards Scheme.His key contributions in the Ministry included development of the following policies; National Science and Technology Parks, 2010; Kenya framework for Science, Technology and Innovation Exchange programme, 2009; Kenya Science Technology and Innovation (KESTI) Awards Scheme, 2010. He was a Kenyan Delegate to the East African Community High level Task Force (HLTF) to negotiate the East Africa Community common market protocol. This involved series of meetings within the East Africa region and yielded the Draft common market protocol which was ratified by member states on 20th November, 2009. He undertook advanced studies in the establishment of science parks in Shanghai, China. He took part in several management courses including Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) which was the highest course at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) then. He has undertaken other short courses like Finance for non finance officers, Effective supervision and negotiation skills, Innovation Systems and the MDGs, effective communication skills for scientists, Productivity and competitiveness with special focus on cluster development approach, Evidence based Advice to Policy and computer studies from the kenya Government information technology services under ministry of planning. In 2011 he took up a full time teaching position as a lecturer at the then University of Nairobi’s South Eastern University College, now South Eastern Kenya University. As a lecturer in Economics of Education, Education Evaluation, Educational planning and strategic planning, he has explored other areas in teaching and research including; Total Quality Management in Education, Higher Education Studies, Educational Statistics, Education Financing, Organizational Behaviour, Corporate Governance in Education, Education in Emergencies and so on. He has also taken advanced courses in analytical skills, data analysis skills using MS Excel (Toolpack), Stata and SPSS (Scientific Package for Social Sciences). He has also made a significant research and publication profile. He has over fourty five (45) articles in internationally peer reviewed journals. His recent research works have been accepted in top notch journals and books internationally, six of his most recent articles have been accepted in the reputable International Journal of Economics Education and Development (IJEED) and Asian Journal of Social Sciences (AESS). He has actively participated in collaborative writing and presentation of papers in conferences, seminars and symposia. He has successfully supervised over fifty (50) Masters degree students who have since graduated, PhD students supervised are yet to graduate. In the last five years, Dr. Migosi has been involved in the following consultancies; Data collection exercise on national cooperative baseline survey, baseline survey for EU-restore and SIDA projects-Somalia, evaluation of Kenya Peaceful Youth and their Communities Program, midline study on early grade mathematics competency levels among class 2 pupils in Kenya for the Ministry of Education Kenya, won NRF competitive multidisciplinary grants. Editorial and peer reviewer for NCRC (National Crime Research Centre), individual consultant to develop social safeguards for Ministry of Education Kenya and the World Bank project, individual consultant to develop World Bank funded school improvement project (SIP). Priede- Ministry of Education project on SIP (School Improvement Plan) development, individual consultant for APHRC to undertake literature review for education access in marginalised areas in East Africa, lead project leader completed baseline survey, customer satisfaction, work environment survey for the Kenya judiciary, developing a communication strategy for NACADA, carrying out a baseline survey for the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), carrying out a value addition chain for the Ministry of Northern Kenya, carrying out Drug and alcohol abuse prevalence in the Ministry of Finance Kenya, Carrying out needs assessment of the schools neighboring Lewa Conservancy. Dr. Migosi is a member of Kenya National Academy of Sciences (KNAS), World Futures Society Federation (WFSF)) Educational Management Society of Kenya (EMSK), A member of Kenya Association of Education Administration Management (KAEAM) an affiliate of the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management. full member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), the Global Development Network and Science & Development (Scidev) Network. Dr. Migosi was awarded, by South Eastern Kenya University, the best overall publisher of the year 2014 having published the highest number of articles in internationally peer reviewed journals. This award included a cash reward. Dr. Migosi is a Creative, energetic, adaptable and flexible person, Stress-resilient and able to cope with deadlines and complex issues.
