Dr John Kaunga Muthee was born on 15th June 1963 and is married with three children. He is currently a lecturer in Food Animal Clinical and Production Medicine with special interest in dairy herd health. He graduated as a Veterinarian (BVM) from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Nairobi in 1989. He joined the department of Clinical Studies in the same faculty as an assistant lecturer in august 1989. Between 1999 and 2005 he was seconded as the farm manager in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Farm where he played an important role of reorganizing and turning it around. In 2004 he attended the International Course on Dairy Husbandry and Milk Processing at the Practical Training Centre (PTC+) in The Netherlands and earned a diploma with the specialization Dairy Farm Management.  He attained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Studies from the University of Nairobi in 2008 and is currently registered for PhD in the University of Nairobi pursuing research in the area of ethno pharmacology.
