PROF. KIPTOON JAPHETH C (RETIRED)

A Professor of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Japheth Chesire Kiptoon was appointed by the President of the Republic of Kenya as Chancellor of Karatina University in early 2013. Previously, Prof.  Kiptoon has served as Chancellor for Maseno University, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

 He was former Vice- Chancellor of Egerton University, having also been the Deputy Vice Chancellor.

 Prof Kiptoon holds the Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree from the University of East Africa, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Nairobi. He has served as Chairman, Department of Clinical Studies and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
