Prof. James Mbaria holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacology and toxicology awarded in 1999. He also holds Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) and Master of Science (MSc, Pharmacology & Toxicology) degrees. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology in the Department of Public Health, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, University of Nairobi. He has 26 years of professional experience in university teaching, research and consultancy in the disciplines of pharmacology & toxicology. He has supervised 20 Masters Degree and 6 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students to completion and currently he is supervising several ongoing postgraduate students. Professor Mbaria has published over 50 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals, books and conference proceedings. He is currently involved in several ongoing projects funded by both local and international funding agencies. He is a member of The Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) and is registered with The Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB).
