George Nyalwal was appointed Deputy Director Library and Information services in charge of planning on 10 May 2019. He held the same position in acting capacity for two and a half years prior to being confirmed. Previously he was the College Librarian at College of Health Sciences Library, University of Nairobi. He has worked in University Libraries for the last 17 years. Mr. Nyalwal was one of the pioneer librarians at Kenya Methodist University in 2001. He later moved to Kiriri Women’s University of Science and Technology where he was in charge of setting up the new University Library in 2002.  Mr. Nyalwal joined the University of Nairobi Library Department in the year 2004. He worked in the acquisitions section up to February 2008 when he was deployed to School of Law library as the school librarian. He was charged with overseeing the setting up of School of law libraries in Mombasa and Kisumu Campuses. In February 2013 Mr Nyalwal was deployed to College of Health Sciences as the College Librarian where he worked up tho 9th May 2015 when he was appointed Acting Deputy Director Library and Information Services (Technical). 14th September 2015, Mr. Nyalwal moved to College of Biological and Physical Sciences as the College librarian. 21st December 2016 Mr. Nyalwal was appointed acting Deputy Director library and Information services in charge of planning.
