Eng. Daniel A. Mutuli has B.Sc and M.Phil degrees from the University of Nairobi and the University of Newcastle-Upon-T yne (England) respectively. He is registered engineer by theEngineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB), and is a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya. (IEK), the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IagrEng, Britain), and
the Kenya Society of Agricultural Engineers (KSAE). Eng. Mutuli has a consultancy experience in Kenya and Malawi in sugarcane production, environmental engineering, agro-industries and agricultural mechanization. He has undertaken technical audit including South Nyanza Sugar Company Ltd, Miwani Sugar Company (1989) Ltd, Ethiopian Privatisation Agency, Coffee Plantation and Development Enterprise (CPDE), Plys and Panes Ltd, Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA) and the Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC). He has also participated in impact assessment consultancy assignments including competitiveness, investment opportunities and risks under liberalized trade in East Africa Project, Case Studies of Agribusiness Firms in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania for Associates in Rural Development (ARD), Technoserve Inc, collation of information and production of a report on the indigenous foods in East, Central and Southern Africa (CRHCS_ECSA), baseline survey consultancy on the conservation of resources through enterprise (CORE) for the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), and final evaluation of Morulem Irrigation Scheme for the World Vision International. Eng. Mutuli has had research and teaching experience at the University of Nairobi where he has taught environmental health and safety engineering, process engineering,mechanization, and technology in society. He has had research experience in sugarcane
production, drying of crops, oils processing, tractor mechanics, and operations research. Eng.. Mutuli has also worked as an assistant silo manager with the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), agricultural mechanization engineer with the Ministry of Agriculture, and as coordinator and processing and rural technology unit of the Ministry of Agriculture
