Legal documentary research in focus...Law as a discipline is a science just as any other social science. But legal research tends to have its own peculiarity as compared to business, economics, psychology, journalism, sociology, history, philosophy, and any other. It is more of interpretativism than positivism. It takes the narrtives more serious but at the same time sticks to its own legal traditions. However, OSCOLA has remained the most preferred systems of citations accepted by many common law jurisdictions including Kenya.

Legal research adheres to OSCOLA - Oxford Standards of Citations of Legal Authorities is what has been adopted by the School of Law University of Nairobi and many other Schools in the Commonwealth countries that practice Anglo-American legal systems and the Common law traditions. I have attached copies of OSCOLA here for the use of Academic purposes. Only Students are allowed to make use of this product which should guide the researchers on how to cite legal authorities.
