KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES - THE PRIZE OF EDUCATION

Ralph Waldo Emerson defined knowledge as the knowing that we cannot know. What colour is the sky? We all know that, when there are no clouds, the sky has a bluish colour, which we refer to as “sky blue”. This is because it is a mixture of blue, indigo and violet colours. But did you know that the sky really has no colour? In fact, outside of the earth’s atmosphere, the sun is white and the sky is dark; it is colourless!

SCARCITY MENTALITY

Just a little bit more! This was John D. Rockefeller's response to the journalist who inquired about how much money is enough. And this unexpected view from a person that controlled much of the oil industry in the 19th and 20th Centuries reflects the core of humanity and the state of the heart of man. All that it would take to make one happy, whether the multibillionaire or the pauper, is just a little bit more.

WIDENING PERSPECTIVES

To be truly happy in the life, you must harmonize what you think now, what you say now and what you do now. WIDEN your perspective by working smart, being a man or woman of integrity, maintaining discipline, aiming for excellence, and never giving up. And it also helps a great deal to be cautiously strategic.

FIVE P-TRAITS FOR ACADEMIC EFFICACY

To finish on time what we start we need to maintain academic efficacy: We are most successful in academics if we have a structured plan; our success depends less on other people and more on our own selves. We should play our part; our output increases when we regard ourselves as owners, rather than servants working for a benefit. We should know our position; we should consider our challenges as ladders that enhance our elevation, rather than as obstacles that prevent our motion and discourage us. We should maintain our progression; our success should be driven by our own self-drive.
